HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 Release Notes (T3680-96087)

Scheduled job events do not run
In the events pane, one of the following messages is displayed:
Internal error occurred starting job <job name>.
Missed scheduled execution time of <job name>.
Resolution: The security credentials (user name and password) that were saved with scheduled job
events might be incorrect. This can occur if the security credentials have been changed on the HP
P6000 Replication Solutions Manager server. For information on changing the job security credentials,
see the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Job Command Reference.
Other replication manager issues
Installing Open-FCoE on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
If you have a host running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 for x86, and you install Open-FCoE on
that host, HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager indicates that the host is in an unknown state. To
prevent this situation:
1. Open the host's etc/hba.conf file in a text editor and comment out the line org.openfc
/usr/lib/open-fcoe/libhbalinux.so.1.
2. Save the file.
3. Restart the host agent.
Enabling Add Presentation for a virtual disk that is being extended
Do not enable Add Presentation for a virtual disk that is being extended. A virtual disk must be in a
normal operational state before presenting it to a host. See the “Remote replication guidelines chapter
in the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager User Guide for more recommendations about virtual
disks.
Management server host name changes
If you change the host name of the management server running the replication manager in HP P6000
Command View, and then add the management server as an enabled host in HP P6000 Replication
Solutions Manager using the previous host name, it will not work. You must delete the enabled host
and add it again using the new host name. Also, ensure that any jobs that reference this host are
updated with the new host name.
Incorrect message displayed during host volume resize
During a host volume resize, the following message may appear:
Set size failed for StorageVolume: [Volume] CommandView Error: Error
cannot modify object properties. No lock.
This error message is incorrect. The correct message is Not enough space in the destination
array.
TimeZone discrepancy between Windows System Date/Time settings and PostgreSQL database
After installing HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager 5.6 on the server, you may see a discrepancy
between the Windows System TimeZone (as observed in Date/Time settings) and the TimeZone as
observed on the PostgreSQL database. This TimeZone discrepancy leads to different time values being
observed by Windows and PostgreSQL. This can lead to the RSM 5.6 Server becoming non-functional.
This issue may occur on RSM 5.6 Server installations on specific Time Zones and may be due to a
PostgreSQL issue which results in a discrepancy between the database time and the Windows system
time.
These solution is applicable only when the PostgreSQL database reports a different time than the
Windows system time. The SQL command "select now();" can be executed in the PostgreSQL Query
Tool to get the PostgreSQL time. All the steps above apply to PostgreSQL 9.0.
