Selects tombstoned m essages received within the specied number of days.
Enter 0 to retri
eve all tombstoned messages regardless of the received date.
Cache Manager deletes previously cached messages that fall outside of this
range. Note that this option is based on the date the message was received,
not the date it was tombstoned.

Enter how often (in minutes) Cache Manager should inspect the user's
mailbox for newly tombstoned messages and messages that have been
deleted from the cache.
Encrypt Cache Select this check box to use encryption when storing the messages in the
cache location on the client machine's le system. Depending upon how
theuser'scomputeriscongured, only the current user can read encrypted
messages. Also, depending on how the user's Folder Options are set, the
encrypted message is likely to appear green in Windows Explorer.
NOTE:
Archived messages will only be stored encrypted in the ofine cache if
EFS is properly congured on the client. System administrators who want
to implement this option should consult Microsoft's documentation for
informat
ion on conguring EFS.
Cache messages with
attachments only
Select this check box to retrieve messages that h ave attachments. Clearing
this check box retrieves all messages. Selecting this option saves space on
the user's system and the time necessary to load the ofine cache. Unless
the email mining server is set to “Trim Message Bodies, the messa ge body
is visible in the preview pane, and therefore, storing messages without
attachments in the ofine cache is not necessary.
Size(MB)ofCache Setsthemaximumlimitonthesize(inmegabytes)ofauser'sofine cache.
This setting takes precedence over the number of days setting mentioned
previously. For example, if the m essages selected according to the number of
days setting cause the ofinecachetoexceedthecachesizesetting,Cache
Manager only retains the most recent messages that comply with the cache
size setting.

Click to delete all messages stored in the ofine cache.
Cache Location
This read-only setting indicates where the ofine cache is stored on the user's
system.
Select Folders
Click to select which folders in the user's mailbox Cache Manager inspects
for messages.
4. Click OK to apply the settings.
5. From Archive options pa nel of the Options dialog box , select the Enable O fine Cache check box. If
you want to save the op tions, but not enable Cache Manager a t this tim e, clear this check box.

ick OK to save your changes and close the Options dialog box.
Enabling ofine c ache
When the ofine cache option is enabled, Cache Ma nager runs when Outlook is opened, and searches
and downloads messages in accordance to the ofine cache settings.
To enable ofine cache:
1. Select Tools>Options>ArchiveOptions. The Archive O ptions panel of the Options dialog box is
displayed.
