Selecting “Quarantine” prompts the user with the “Start Quarantine” confirmation dialog box, as
shown in Figure 9. Selecting OK to this confirmation box begins the quarantine process for the
messages in the “Search-Results” query. The quarantine process creates a new repository for the
messages returned and saved by the “Search-Results” query.
At this point, the results have now been quarantined (or placed on legal hold) and the email items are
associated with a new repository called “Search-Results”.
Figure 10: Quarantined Search Results Repository
The user is automatically granted access to the Search-Results repository. The repository is displayed
in the “Where to Searchdrop-down menu in the IAP Content Search and Retrieve Interface, as
shown in Figure 10. The user can perform the same functions on the Search-Results repository as on
any other repository that the user has access to. The repository can be searched and the resulting
messages can be sent or exported from the IAP.
Looking at the PCC User Management > Account Manager > User view in Figure 12 below,
we can see the account for jdoe@zkodom now has direct access to both the jdoe@zkodom.repository
and the Search-Results.0b0011560ace782121d49c8da90.quarantine.repository. The latter is the
repository created by placing the saved query results Search-Results on legal hold using the
quarantine function.
