Modifying Domain Retention through the PCC
Modifying a retention period for a domain is performed by selecting Data Management >
Retention Information from the PCC left menu. This interface displays the domains defined on the
IAP. To modify the retention period for a domain, select the Edit button to the right of the domain,
refer to “List of Domain(s) in Figure 17.
The Domain Retention Period is initially defined in the Domain.jcml as
DomainRetentionPeriodDays=; this setting is the initial Domain Retention Period. The initial
Domain Retention Period is also the minimum retention period for the domain. The initial retention
period set in the Domain.jcml cannot be less than 30 days.
Editing the domain displays the form shown below in Figure 19. This form allows you to choose a
new retention period for the domain; select a new retention period from the “Set New Retention
Period” drop-down menu. The value chosen must be greater than the Domain Retention Period (the
value assigned to the DomainRetentionPeriodDays= in the Domain.jcml).
Figure 18 illustrates the initial retention period defined as 180 days. This value can only be increased
and never decreased. The PCC can be used to increase or decrease the Domain Retention Period,
however the PCC can only decrease the value to the value of the Domain Retention Period as defined
in the Domain.jcml file’s DomainRetentionPeriodDays= parameter (180 days in the
example below).
