If you do not hav
e a monitoring management server, you can receive SNMP notications via email. This
option is also u
seful if you are away from the ofce.
To enable the ser vice, enter your email address or the email address of the person who will receive the
notications, and click Add.

p if you want to add more recipients.
You can disable or delete an email recipient by clicking the radio button in front of the person’s name,
then clicking Disable or De l ete.
NOTE:
The mail host’s
IP address must be entered in the Email Reports view for SNMP email notications to be
sent. See "Detailed email reports" on p age 76 for more information.
Setting SNMP Community
An SNMP communit y string is a text string that acts as a password. It is used to authenticate messages
that are sent between the management station (the SNMP manag er) and the device (the SNMP ag ent).
The commu nity string is included in every packet that is transmit ted b et ween the SNMP manager and
the SNMP a gent.
Email Reporter
Use the Email Reporter to congure summar y monitoring reports that are sent periodically to your chosen
email recipients.
You can select the information to be sent and the frequency of the reports— from every 2 hours to every
24 hours. These reports ca n include system status, storage rates, nod e health, and other information from
the PCC views.
