Drivers
The HP MPIO EVA DSM components include the following multipath drivers:
• Microsoft MP
IO Framework Drivers
• MPIO.SYS is the multipathing bus driver.
• MPDEV.SYS is the replacement class driver. It communicates with MPIO.SYS.
• MPSPFLTR.SY
S is a port driver filter (HBA upper filter).
• HP DSM d river
• HPEGLDSM.SYS is the HP DSM driver for EVA3000/5000 VCS 4.xxx disk arrays. It interacts
with MPIO.S
YS to provide device-specificfunctions.
HP recommends that you do not remove, delete, or disable these drivers while multipath hardware is
attached to your system.
User mode components
The user m ode components includes:
•HPMPIODSMmanagerGUI
• HP MPIO EVA DSM command line interface
• HP MPIO EVA DSM performance monitoring provider
• HP MPIO EVA DSM persistent r eservations clear utility
HP MPIO DSM manager GUI
The HP MP
IO DSM manager GUI monitors and manages the HP DSMs. It also enables administrator to
receive
e-mail notifications on path or device failure events. The HP MPIO DSM Mana ger is provided as
a separate installation package.
NOTE:
To manage HP M PIO EVA DSM 3.00.00 and later, use H P MPIO DSM M anager 3.00 .00 or later.
HP MPIO EVA DSM command line interface (CLI)
The HP MPIO EVA DSM command line interface (HPDSM.EXE) enables you to monitor and manage HP
DSMs in an MPIO environment.
HP MPIO EVA DSM performance monitoring provider
The HP MPIO EVA DSM performance monitoring provider (HpPerfProv.DLL) helps you monitor the
Input/Output (I/O ) performance of a device path using the system m onitor.
