5. When the Exit Setup dialog box appears, click the Exit Setup button to close the installer.
Note By exiting the installer after disabling the standard QLogic driver, you avoid
rebooting without an installed HBA driver, which currently (Command View SDM
Build 9.2) causes Command View SDM’s HostAgent.exe to fail with an
Exception
Access Violation
.
6. Re-run the Storage Allocater installer.
Note During the Storage Allocater installation, make sure that the Storage Allocater
QLogic HBA Driver (by HP) is selected for installation.
Since the factory QLogic driver is now disabled, the installer will detect it as disabled and will proceed
with the software installation. After the Storage Allocater program files are copied onto the host, the
installer tries to load the Storage Allocater services. Ignore the following warning that appears in the
Dynamically Loading Services dialog box:
The current service being processed is ‘trqladrv’ Start Service: cannot start
service – ERROR!
Note The Storage Allocater QLogic HBA driver (trqladrv) will be started when the host is
rebooted in step 8.
7. Click the Next button and follow the on-screen instructions until the Finished Installing Storage
Allocater dialog box appears.
8. In the Finished Installing Storage Allocater dialog box, select Yes and click the Finish button to reboot
the host.
Command View SDM’s HostAgent and OpenDial services, and the Storage Allocater QLogic driver will
start up and should not experience any problems.
Starting the Administration Application
Start Storage Allocater and create a database on the LUNs that you created in the Create Database LUNs
step on page 1. For more information about installing and configuring Storage Allocater, see the hp
OpenView storage allocater administrator’s guide .
Assigning Devices to the Command View SDM Host
In order to run Command View SDM, you must assign at least LUN0 of the va7100 to the host that is running
the Command View SDM software.
