2. Download and extract the HP P6000 hardware providers files from the HP VDS/VSS web page:
http://www.hp.com/support/HWPEVA
The installer executables are provided in a self-extracting file with the name
HP_Storage_VDS_VSS_Hardware_Provider_for_P6000_version.exe. This file contains
the executable files hp_p6000vdsprv_xxx.exe and hp_p6000vssprv_xxx.exe.
NOTE:
There is only one self extracting file for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server
2008 R2 because the installer executables (hp_p6000vdsprv_xxx.exe and
hp_p6000vssprv_xxx.exe) are common.
For Windows Server 2008, the installer executable will automatically upgrade previous
installations of the hardware provider software to the latest version.
For Windows Server 2008 R2, you must manually remove the previous version (v6.06.00)
of the hardware provider software before installing the latest version.
3. In the Windows Server GUI, double-click the HP P6000 hardware providers installation executable:
hp_p6000vdsprv_xxx.exe or hp_p6000vssprv_xxx.exe. The xxx in the file name
represents the Windows operating system version. Be sure to open the file that matches your
operating system.
NOTE:
On Windows Server 2008 Server Core, change to the location where you extracted the hardware
provider files, and enter the name of the executable. For example, for the VDS provider, enter
hp_p6000vdsprv_x86.exe.
The InstallShield Welcome window opens.
4. Click Next. The License Agreement window opens.
If this is a new installation, continue to Step 5.
