3. Select a snap type under Snap type.
• Demand Allocated Snapshot—Space for the copy is created only as needed when data is
copied to the copy volume.
• Fully Allocated Snapshot—Space for the copy is reserved in advance and filled when data
is copied to the snapshot.
• Snapclone—A complete cloned copy of the original data is created. If the snapclone properties
have not been configured for the selected disk group, the Settings window opens automatically.
If the properties have already been configured and you want to change them, click Settings
(see “Configuring snapclones” on page 19).
• Mirrorclone-Snapshot—A snapshot of the mirror clone is created. When a mirrorclone-snapshot
is created, a mirrorclone of the source Vdisk is created. A snapshot is then taken of the mir-
rorclone, and the snapshot inherits the mirrorclone Vraid settings and disk group (mirrorclone
destination LUN). Use the Mirrorclone-Shapshot properties box to select the redundancy type,
Snap type, and State of the mirrorclone after snapshot. If the mirrorclone-snapshot properties
have not been configured for the selected disk group, the Settings window opens automatically.
If the properties have already been configured and you want to change them, click Settings
(see “Configuring a mirrorclone-snapshot” on page 20).
• Mirrorclone—A mirror image of the original data is created, and any updates to the source
data are copied to the mirrorclone. Use the Mirrorclone properties box to set the disk group,
redundancy type, and Mirrorclone Delete Mode properties. If the mirrorclone properties have
not been configured for the selected disk group, the Settings window opens automatically. If
the properties have already been configured and you want to change them, click Settings
(see “Configuring mirrorclones” on page 21).
Configuring snapclones
The Snapclone tab in the Settings window enables you to select a disk group under Diskgroup List
and modify the redundancy of the snapclone. Select a redundancy level from the Select redundancy
type for Snapclone vdisk list:
• Default - Same as source
• Vraid0 - No redundancy
• Vraid1 - Mirroring
• Vraid5 - Data plus parity
• Vraid6 - Double parity disks
