HP-UX SMH: Peripheral Devices Manager Under OLRAD Cards,
in the Detail View, the Device Files tab displays incorrect details
for some FC cards
ISSUE
In the Peripheral Devices Manager (PeripheralDeviceWeb) application, under OLRAD Cards, in the Detail
View, the Device Files tab does not display correct details for some of the FC cards. This affects the user
interface for Store Driver and Firmware Information menu that is available for FC cards under the I/O
Tree tab. The details of this issue are described here.
The affected fields in the Detail View are:
N_Port Node World Wide Name
N_Port Port World Wide Name
Switch Port World Wide Name
Switch Node World Wide Name
N_Port Symbolic Port Name
N_Port Symbolic Node Name
Driver state
Hardware Path
Maximum Frame Size
Driver-Firmware Dump Available
Driver-Firmware Dump Timestamp
Driver Version
The values for these fields are shifted down by one line, and the value of Driver Version is not available.
As a result, in the Store Driver and Firmware Information page, the Dump Saved State button is always
available even if the driver has no dump data.
NOTE:
This problem is visible only for a few FC cards. The problem does not affect the Dump Saved State
functionality.
SOLUTION
For certain FC cards, you can determine the value for the Driver Version by looking at one row below the
field. Look for a future release of HP-UX Peripheral Devices Manager (PeripheralDeviceWeb version later
than B.11.31.07) on the HP Software Depot website at http://software.hp.com.
