4. Save the changes.
5. Restart the HP SIM service.
6. Select OptionsIdentify Systems. Re-identify all WBEM/WMI systems in HP SIM to
correct the port reference.
HP CV EVA
The HP CV EVA installation kit includes SMI-S as a component. At installation time, SMI-S assigns
the following as default ports if they are available:
HTTP port=5988
HTTPS port=5989
If one or both of these ports are in use, a screen appears on which you can change the port
numbers. The SMI-S installer suggests port 60000 if that port is not in use. SMI-S retains port
5988 if it does not conflict with another port number. SMI-S uses these ports when the HP CIMOM
process starts.
Note: This screen appears only if a port conflict is detected, which is why HP recommends
installing HP SIM before installing Command View.
