If the system is not being managed from Systems Insight Manager, configure only ports 2301 and 2381 to
enable browser access to System Management Homepage.

HP SIM supports an alternate port in WBEM by editing the wbemportlist.xml file.For more information

Usage is configurable in Systems Insight Manager.
4. In the Add a Port window, click OK.
5. In the Windows Firewall window, click OK.
This configuration leaves the Windows XP Service Pack 2 security enhancements intact and
allows traffic over the ports.
NOTE: Systems Insight Manager discovers Web servers on other ports
Procedure 4 Configuring CMS on which WMI Mapper is installed
If the firewall is “ON”, then perform these steps:
1. From the Control Panel, select Windows Firewall.
2. Click Allow a program or feature through windows firewall
3. Click Allow Another program
4. Go to <Mapper Dir>/bin
5. Include Wbemcons.exeto the path and execute it.
Procedure 5 Configuring managed node on which WMI Mapper is installed
If you access the managed node with credentials that is a part of the “Administrators” user
group within the local group polices of that managed host, then no changes are required.
However, the User account control on the managed node must be “OFF” (locally and by
domain controller's policy).
If User account control is “ON”, then perform the following tasks irrespective of whether or
not you are a part of the “Administrators” group.
To give permissions to user over WMI in dcomconfig:
1. Select StartRun. Enter dcomcnfg
2. Click OK.
3. Double-click Component Services, double-click Computers, double-click My Computer,
and then click DCOM Config.
4. In the details pane, locate the Windows Management Instrumentation, right-click the
program and then click Properties.
5. Select the Security tab.
6. In the Launch and Activation Permissions area, click Customize, and then click Edit
7. Select Everyone from the list.
