Configuring Systems Insight Manager using the Options menu
Procedure 6 Configuring the managed systems using the Options menu
1. Configure the protocol settings.
Protocol settings define how HP Systems Insight Manager communicates with the managed
systems. To configure these settings, Select OptionsProtocol SettingsGlobal Protocol Settings.
2. Add users and user groups.
NOTE: Users that have been added to the CMS cannot view or manage systems until
authorizations have been configured for them.
NOTE: HP-UX and Linux-provided command line tools, such as ls and df, are run as root
by default. For security reasons, run them as a specific user to avoid permitting unintended
capabilities to a user.
To add users, select OptionsSecurityUsers and AuthorizationsUsers, and then click New.
To add user groups, select OptionsSecurityUsers and AuthorizationsUsers, and then
click New Group.
