3. Save the changes.
4. Restart the HP SIM service.
Correcting an existing HP SIM installation
Important: Do not use the following procedure if this is a first-time installation of HP SIM. Use this
procedure only if HP SIM has already been installed and the WMI Mapper port has been changed to
something (for example, 6989) other than the default (5989).
To restore the WMI Mapper port to the default port:
1. Stop the Pegasus WMI Mapper service.
2. Open the following file:
C:\Program Files\The Open Group\WMI Mapper\cimserver_planned.conf
3. In the line that includes httpsPort=6989, change the port number to 5989.
The port number may have already been set to something other than 6989; it is used here as
an example only.
4. Save the file.
5. Restart the Pegasus WMI Mapper service.
6. Execute the netstat command, and verify that the change has been made.
Note: The changes made in the cimserver_planned.conf file will be applied to the
cimserver_current.conf file after the service is restarted.
An example of a cimserver_planned.conf file follows:
enableRemotePrivilegedUserAccess=true
enableHttpsConnection=true
enableHttpConnection=false
sslCertificateFilePath=C:\hp\sslshare\cert.pem
sslKeyFilePath=C:\hp\sslshare\file.pem
httpsPort=5989
