and performance. The determination of which data center should receive traffic from the CMS is
performed by a Global Server Load Balancer (GSLB), which directs traffic based on name server
resolution.
The CMS DNS resolution facilitates the GSLB being able to direct traffic dynamically to the
appropriate site. It is not supported to configure the hosts file with a single IP address of the Remote
Support aliases because there are multiple IP addresses for these aliases.

HP Insight Remote Support Advanced installation process
HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software is not bundled with HP Systems Insight Manager.
After the HP Systems Insight Manager installation, to finish the installation of the Remote Support
Software Manager, follow these steps:
IMPORTANT: A screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768 is necessary during the HP Insight
Remote Support Advanced installation, otherwise some install windows will be truncated and
necessary user input buttons will not be visible.
Procedure 8 Installing HP Insight Remote Support Advanced
1. Double-click the Get Latest HP Insight Remote Support Products shortcut that was installed on
the CMS desktop.
2. Register yourself as a customer on the HP Software Depot.
3. Download and run the executable file.
4. Use the HP Insight Remote Support Software Installation wizard to install the software.
Accepting the default responses is sufficient for successful completion. After the Remote Support
Software Manager is installed on your CMS, it will install the remaining required products for your
full HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software solution.
Restarting HP SIM service
After HP SIM 7.0 installation, if you need to install Insight RSA 5.7 on a system that does not have
previous version of Insight RSA installed, then you must restart HP SIM service after the Insight RSA
user registration.
To restart HP SIM service, perform the following:
1. Go to the Control Panel —> Adminstrative Tools —> Services.
2. Restart the HP Systems Insight Manager Service under Services.
3. Start a new browser session and login to HP Systems Insight Manager.
NOTE: In order to upgrade HP Insight Remote Support Advanced from versions prior to version
5.5 to version 5.7, you must first upgrade to version 5.5 before proceeding to version 5.7.
