NOTE: Systems Insight Manager supports SQL Server and Oracle databases on Windows
platforms. This feature enables support for a local or remote database hosted on an IPV6
enabled machine. However Systems Insight Manager does not support IPV6 addresses. You
must enter a hostname in the Host field.
Select from the following database options:
• Install and use SQL Express—This option provides you the facility to install and configure
SQL Express database which is also bundled with SIM.
• Use SQL/SQL Express—This option provides the facility to use Remote database.
• Use Oracle—This option provides the facility to use Remote database.
NOTE: At the time of database configuration, ensure that the user name and password are
not invalid. If you enter an invalid password, the SQL 2008 R2 installation fails displaying
the following message: The specified credentials for the SQL Server service
are not valid.
