Additionally, when converting an enclosure to 3-phase operation it is important to remember that 3-phase enclosures require
that all six power supplies be installed in order to operate properly. If needed, extra power supplies can be ordered using part
number 412138-B21.
Replacing the Input Power Module
In order to convert an enclosure, its Input Power Module must be exchanged for a module designed to work with the new
power infrastructure. Input Power Modules for the c7000 enclosures can be interchanged without creating any warranty or
certification issues. Instructions for replacing the power module in an enclosure are part of the Maintenance and Service Guide,
available online at
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/316682-0-0-0-121.html.
The appropriate Input Power Modules are available as spare parts. Numbers are listed in Table 1-1 below.
Table 1-1. Input Power Modules for c7000 enclosures

Updating the Onboard Administrator
To ensure proper operation of management functions, the enclosure’s Onboard Administrator must be updated to reflect the
new input module type. This can only be accomplished by connecting to the Onboard Administrator through Telnet or SSH as
an administrator, and then using the command line interface to change the input module type using the Set Enclosure
command.
Set enclosure pdu_type x
Where:
x = 1 for single phase
x = 2 for 3-phase North America/Japan
x = 3 for 3-phase International
Detailed information on the Onboard Administrator command line Interface is available in the following documents:
