12.3 Password
12.12.3.1 I am unable to sign into HP Systems Insight Manager.
Solution:
Make sure that the HP Systems Insight Manager service is running.
To verify whether the HP Systems Insight Manager service is running:
Go to My ComputerManageServices and ApplicationsServicesHP Insight
Control.
To start the HP Systems Insight Manager service:
Go to My ComputerManageServices and ApplicationsServices and right-click the
HP Insight Control service and select Start. If a message appears indicating a login failure,
the service account password should be changed.
Procedure 12-9 Changing the service account password
1. Go to My ComputerManageServices and ApplicationsServices, right-click
HP Insight Control, and select Properties (or just double-click the HP Systems Insight
Manager service name).
2. Select the Log On tab.
3. Update the password in the This Account section.
4. Click OK. The password is saved.
12.12.3.2 The password for the service account used by the HP Systems Insight Manager Windows service
is changing. What do I need to change?
Stop HP Systems Insight Manager.1.
2. Access the Services control panel and edit the service credentials to provide the new
password for the HP Systems Insight Manager service.
3. Run mxpassword -g and modify the following passwords to the new account password:
MxDBUserPassword
MxPMPPassword
4. Restart HP Systems Insight Manager.
12.12.3.3 The password for the database account used by the HP Systems Insight Manager Windows
service is changing. What do I need to change?
Stop HP Systems Insight Manager.1.
2. Run mxpassword -g and modify the following passwords to the new account password:
MxDBUserPassword
MxPMPPassword
3. Restart HP Systems Insight Manager.
12.4 Migration logs
12.12.4.1 I am unable to find the Migration logs.
By default, the debug log is disabled for migration. To enable the debug log, open the
[HPSIM]\config\debugsettings\migration.props file, and set the value of the
GlobalEnable property to true and set the log level to 20 or above for detailed logging. This
property file will be created on the first run of the export or import operation.
The debug log file is created under [HPSIM]\logs with name migration_log4j.log.
A backup log file is created with name migration_log4j_backup.log.
