How to define custom fields within HP Systems Insight Manager to view system
information
There are many times when customers may need to create custom fields. Creating custom fields allows customers to capture
specific information on a single server basis and have that information represented in HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM).
Defining custom fields on a single server basis
One method for defining custom fields on a single server is through the Server Role field within the System Management
Homepage. The Server Role field stores custom information regarding the description of the system’s role or function, or through
another identifier of the customer’s choosing. The Server Role is configurable by clicking the SNMP & Agent Settings link from
within the System Management Homepage (Figure 5-1).
