UPD 5.5 or later needs to be pre-installed before performing the following the steps in this section.

For Windows 7, this can be done using pnputil –a *.inf.

For Windows XP, the driver can be pre-installed with the HP Driver Deployment Utility.
Method to delete the HP PNP Scan Null driver
In Windows 7 and Windows XP:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Go to windows\inf directory.
For Windows 7, the following steps are required:
a. Open the Organize folder, and then click Folder and search options.
b. Click the Search tab.
