Updating an Existing Operating System and Software

Using HP-UX Extension Software

In addition to the tapes or CDs holding the operating system, the 11.0

release includes a CD labelled "HP-UX Extension Software". This CD is

included as a means of delivering ﬁxes for any problems that may be

discovered after the release has been packaged for shipment.

Procedure After you have installed or updated your system, read the Extension

Software Information Sheet. Alternatively, read the README FIRST on

the CD-ROM

Ensure that the drive is mounted:

/usr/sbin/mount

If there is no entry for the CD-ROM drive, mount it. For example:

/usr/sbin/mount /dev/dsk/c0t2d0 /your_cdrom_directory

Then print the README FIRST or use the "more" command to read it.
