Managing the Overall Complex
Viewing the Current Status of the Complex
Chapter 3108
Determining if Blowers, Fans, or Power Supplies Have
Failed
If you are working with a Superdome complex that is at a remote
location, you cannot simply walk over to it and observe the operational
status of the blowers, fans, and power supplies in the complex. However,
you can use the HP-UX parstatus command (see parstatus (1) ) or the
Partition Manager to determine this information.
HP-UX Commands The parstatus command can report the status of the power and cooling
components of a Superdome complex on a cabinet by cabinet basis. In the
following command, substitute cabinet_number for the number of the
cabinet whose status you want to know.
Step 1. /usr/sbin/parstatus -V -b
cabinet_number
For example: /usr/sbin/parstatus -V -b 0
You can perform this task using HP-UX commands or
Partition Manager.
