Accessing a Partition’s Console and BCH Interface
Each partition has its own Boot Console Handler (BCH) interface that
provides you a method for interacting with the partition before HP-UX
has booted. The BCH interface allows you to manage the partition’s
HP-UX boot process and to configure various boot-related settings.
Each partition’s BCH interface is available through the partition’s
console and is accessible before HP-UX has booted.
Before performing this procedure, check the partition’s console or its
Virtual Front Panel to check the partition’s current state.
At the BCH interface.
If so, you can access the BCH interface or reboot BCH if needed.
Booted to ISL.
If so, exit ISL using the EXIT command to exit ISL and return to the
BCH interface.
Booted to HP-UX.
If the partition has booted HP-UX, reboot HP-UX and if necessary
interrupt the automatic boot process to reach the BCH interface.
The following procedure describes how to access a partition’s console and
its BCH interface.
