Step 3. As necessary, configure the boot path variable to the new value that
corresponds to the target boot device.
Use the BCH main menu’s PATH command.
For example, to set the PRI boot path to a new value (4/0/2/0/0.10, in this
case):
The new boot path setting takes place immediately.
HP-UX Commands Use this procedure to set a partition’s boot path variables from HP-UX.
Step 1. Log in to HP-UX running on any partition in the complex.
You can modify the boot paths for any partition from any other partition
in the complex.
Step 2. Use the parmodify command to set the desired boot path.
The parmodify -p

-b option sets the PRI boot device for the specified
partition number (-p
#
). The -s option sets the HAA path, and the -t
option sets the ALT path.
For example, to set the PRI and HAA boot paths for partition number 0:
The above example sets partition number 0’s PRI boot path to
0/0/4/0/0.8.0 and sets the HAA boot path to 0/0/4/0/0.9.0.
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > PA PRI 4/0/2/0/0.10.0
Primary Boot Path: 4/0/2/0/0.10
