Configuring Fast Boot Settings for a Partition
The fast boot settings for a partition determine the self-tests that the
partition performs during power on or partition boot.
NOTE On Superdome servers use the BCH interface’s FASTBOOT command to
set the fast boot settings. Do not use the ISL interface, which has no
effect for Superdome partition self tests.
BCH Use this procedure to set a partition’s fast boot settings.
Step 1. Log in to the Superdome complex’s GSP, access the partition’s console,
and access the BCH configuration menu.
From the partition console you access the partition’s BCH interface. If
the partition is not at the BCH interface you must either boot the
partition or shut down HP-UX to return to the BCH interface.
From the BCH main menu, enter CO to access the BCH configuration
menu.
Step 2. From the BCH configuration menu use the FASTBOOT command to list
or set the partition’s fast boot settings.
Enter FASTBOOT with no arguments to display the current fast boot
settings. This lists which self tests are set to be performed or skipped.
For more details on setting self tests, enter HELP FASTBOOT for help.
NOTE HP recommends that all self tests be performed for all partitions. To
enable all tests for a partition, use the FASTBOOT RUN command at the
partition’s BCH configuration menu
You can perform this task using the BCH interface.
