Product Features
Version A.02.01 includes the following new features:
Authorization, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) - The HP-UX Mobile IPv4 extension
to the Diameter protocol allows authorization, authentication, and accounting of Mobile
IP users across multiple realms. The protocol incorporates Registration Request messages
into Mobile IP specific Diameter messages. The AAA process can be triggered in the
Mobile IP registration process.
Dynamic Home Address Allocation - Mobile Nodes can now register and obtain a
dynamically allocated home address in the absence of a static address using Network
Access Identifier (NAI). The Base Mobile IP protocol allows a Mobile Node to be
configured without a home address. Home addresses for such Mobile Nodes are
dynamically allocated during registration process. Dynamic home address allocation is
supported only if registration is authenticated via AAA.
Dynamic Home Agent Allocation - Mobile Nodes in a foreign network send a registration
request to the AAA server for Home Agent allocation. Home Agent allocation is directly
linked to the home address of the Mobile Node. This home address may either be a static
home address or a dynamically allocated one. This version supports dynamic Home Agent
allocation in both cases.
