Purpose of this manual
This manual provides installation, configuration and troubleshooting information
for the HP DTC Manager/UX software (Data communications and Terminal
Controller) which operates on HP 9000 Series 700 and 800 systems running
HP-UX 10.x. The software also operates on HP 9000 Series 800 systems running
HP-UX 9.x. Information specific to a particular version is indicated when necessary.
Note All references to directories and file paths apply only to HP-UX 10.x. The
HP-UX 9.x paths and directories are described in Appendix B.
The HP DTC Manager/UX running on HP-UX 9.x cannot be used on an HP 9000
Series 700.
The HP DTC Manager/UX running on HP-UX 10.30 cannot be used on an HP 9000
Series 700.
The DTC Manager/UX is an application program that resides on the HP 9000 host
system and enables you to configure and diagnose Hewlett-Packard DTCs.
Intended audience
This manual is intended for the following users:
• the HP 9000 system administrator or network administrator who defines the
configurations of the DTCs
• the HP 9000 system operator or network operator who may do the tasks defined
by the system or network administrator.
