Configuring DNS/IP parameters
Use the DNS/IP Parameters Configuration to specify:
the IP addresses for the DNS (Domain Name System) server
the IP routing parameters
The DTC sends a DNS request to the DNS server whose IP address is specified. The
DNS server returns the IP address of the requested system. If you specify the IP
address of a system with the DTC connect command, DNS is not used.
The IP address format is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where xxx is a decimal number from 0
through 255. The IP address can be 0.0.0.0 but cannot be 255.255.255.255. The IP
address is unique on the network. An IP router allows connections to nodes on
different LAN networks. If an IP router is not defined, then connections cannot be
made to systems outside the local subnet.
