HP-UX Secure Shell
Chapter 8

RBAC is available on the Software Pack (SPK) media for June 2006. For more
information about SPK, see “Software Pack (Optional HP-UX 11i v2 Core
Enhancements)” on page 27.
Summary of Change
RBAC has been updated with the following changes:
• Usability enhancement known as “Hierarchical Roles” that allows you to define
relationships between roles:
Using “Hierarchical Roles,” you can define roles to be composed of other, already
configured roles (sub-roles), thereby limiting the total number of roles you have to
manage and making it easier to define groups of access rights and assign them to
individual users.
• Multiple minor defect fixes that correct a few miscellaneous formatting issues
Impact
The introduction of hierarchical roles simplifies the creation and assignment of similar,
but different, roles to multiple users.
Compatibility
There are no compatibility issues.
Performance
There are no performance issues.
