4. On the Correspondent Node, use the mipadmin -tunnel command to display the
tunnel that the Correspondent Node uses to encapsulate the original IP packet
(addressed to the Mobile Node) in an IP packet addressed to the Care-of Address (the
Tunnel End Point). In the example below, when the Correspondent Node sends a
packet to the Mobile Node, it will first build an IP packet as follows:
Source Address: 15.15.15.9 (the Correspondent Node’s address)
Destination Address: 15.15.15.3 (the Mobile Node’s address)
Next, it will encapsulate the above packet in an outer IP packet with the following
addresses:
Source Address: 15.15.15.9 (the Correspondent Node’s address)
Destination Address: 10.10.10.2 (the Mobile Node’s Care-of address)
___________________________________ TUNNELS _________________________
Tunnel Name: v4tu0:1 Local Address: 15.15.15.9
Tunnel End Point: 10.10.10.2 Mobile Node: 15.15.15.3
Encapsulation: IP in IP Status: Ok
5. On the Home Agent, use the mipadmin -roinfo command to display information
about associations between the Home Agent and Correspondent Nodes about the
Mobile Nodes.
Look for an entry with the Mobile Node’s address in the Home Address field.

Verify Reverse Tunneling
Use the mipadmin -tunnels -v command to verify reverse tunneling on the Foreign
Agent. Find the tunnel between the Foreign Agent and the Home Agent for the Mobile
Node (the Tunnel End Point field will contain the Mobile Node’s Home Agent address
and the Mobile Node field will contain Mobile Node’s address). Verify that the Source
Forwarding tag appears in the output for the tunnel. In the example below, the Mobile
Node’s Home Agent address is 120.120.120.2 and its home address is 120.120.120.4.

Verify AAA Server Connection and Sessions
Use the netstat -an command to verify the TCP connection between a Home Agent or
Foreign Agent and the AAA server. If a Home Agent or Foreign Agent is configured to
use AAA, the mipd daemon will attempt to establish a TCP connection to the AAA server
when the daemon starts. Look for an established TCP connection with the AAA server
port number (1812 by default) in the foreign address information. For example:
