3. If the other HP-UX Mobile IPv4 components are operating properly but Mobile IPv4
routes are not present, use the output from the following commands on a Home or
Foreign Agent to determine if the gated daemon was started or re-started after the
Mobile IPv4 daemon (mipd) started:
ps -ef | grep gated | grep -v gated
ps -ef | grep mipd | grep -v mipd
On a Correspondent Node, use the following two commands to determine if the
gated daemon was started or re-started after the Mobile IPv4 route optimization
daemon (miprod) started:
ps -ef | grep gated | grep -v gated
ps -ef | grep miprod | grep -v miprod
Solution
To fix this problem, you must force the Mobile Nodes to re-register. One way to do this is
to re-start the Mobile IPv4 daemon using the mipadmin -stop and mipadmin -start
commands.
To avoid this problem in the future, do not start or re-start the gated daemon when the
Mobile IPv4 daemon is running.
