Reporting Problems
Provide the following information when reporting problems to HP:
• A description of the problem and any error messages.
• A description of the network topology, with IP addresses, subnet masks and interface
names.
•Output from the mipadmin options listed in the “Troubleshooting Checklists” on
page 109.
• ndd output on Foreign Agent, Home Agent and Correspondent Node:
1. ndd /dev/ip ip_iptun_status
2. ndd /dev/ip ip_ipif_status
3. ndd /dev/ip ip_ill_config_status
4. ndd /dev/ip ip_ire_hash
5. ndd /dev/ip ip_ire_status
• netstat output on Foreign Agent, Home Agent and Correspondent Node:
1. netstat -in
2. netstat -rn
• Mobile IPv4 configuration files on the Foreign Agent and Home Agent:
1. /etc/rc.config.d/mipdconf
2. the mipd configuration file (the default is /var/adm/mip/mipd.conf)
• Mobile IPv4 configuration files on the Correspondent Node:
1. /etc/rc.config.d/mipdconf
2. the miprod configuration file (the default is /var/adm/mip/miprod.conf)
• A printout of the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file for Foreign Agent, Home Agent
and Correspondent Node. If you can reproduce the problem, set the log level to info
(mipadmin -loglevel info), reproduce the problem and print the log file.
•The what strings for the following programs:
1. /usr/sbin/mipd
2. /usr/sbin/miprod
•Output from the lanscan command.
• If there are problems establishing tunnels, add the following information:
1. ICMP and UDP nettl traces on Foreign Agent and Home Agent.
2. UDP nettl traces on Correspondent Node.
• If you are having problems communicating with the Mobile node, add the following
