Step 1: Start mipconfig
Before you start mipconfig, the LAN interfaces that you want to use for Mobile IPv4
should already be configured for IP service using the HP-UX ifconfig command. This
allows mipconfig to read the interface IP addresses and other information and configure
many of the Mobile IPv4 parameters with default values.
If the interfaces are not already up and configured for IP service, you can use the
ifconfig command to start and configure the IP service. Refer to the Installing and
Administering LAN/9000 manual and the ifconfig (1M) man page for more
information.
If you do not want to start IP service on the interfaces now, you can still run mipconfig
but you will have to manually configure many of the parameters yourself. You will still
have to start and configure the IP service on the interfaces before starting the Mobile
IPv4 service.
You must have superuser capability to run mipconfig.Use the following command to
start mipconfig:
mipconfig
By default, mipconfig will assume that you want to open the default configuration file for
the mipd daemon: /var/adm/mip/mipd.conf.
