Stopping the Home and Foreign Agent Daemon (mipd)
There are two ways to stop mipd:
• Automatically, at system shutdown time. The HP-UX Mobile IPv4 product installs a
script that the system executes at system shutdown time.
• Manually, using the mipadmin utility
Manually Stopping mipd Using mipadmin
Use the following mipadmin command to manually stop mipd:
mipadmin -stop
This command stops the mipd daemon and also shutdowns and restarts the interfaces
configured for Mobile IPv4. The mipadmin utility will print a warning message and ask
you to confirm that you want to stop the daemon:
mipadmin> -stop
Querying daemon for list of interfaces on which services are offered.
These interfaces have NOFASTPATH enabled, which can be disabled once
the daemon is stopped.
NOTE: The following interface(s) will be restarted with NOFASTPATH
disabled:
lan1
Stop mipd? (yes)
Press RETURN or type yes to stop the daemon.
