HP Instant Capacity Release Notes for Version 9.x

Summary of New Features and Changes
This section summarizes the new features and changes of the Instant Capacity product.
Changes in Version 9.0.3 from Version 9.0.2 (HP-UX)
icapd daemon fix
Resolved an issue where the icapd daemon woke up earlier than expected to perform the routine
Instant Capacity software tasks.
System contact email address fix
In previous releases, if the system contact email address was more than 128 characters, it corrupted
the GiCAP database. The system contact email address can now be set up to 256 characters.
Changes in Version 9.0.2 from Version 9.0.1 (HP-UX)
GiCAP enhancement
Instant Capacity version 9.0.2 enhances the performance of GiCAP operations by using locally
available TiCAP in the following manner:
Speeds up initial activation of the cores
Reduces the overhead of contacting the Group Manager for core usage details
Group Manager password fix
In previous releases, if the password of a member system being added to Group Manager was
more than eight characters, the operation failed. Group Manager can now accept members with
longer passwords (up to 80 characters).
HP-UX upgrade fix
Resolved an issue where the icapd process crashed during an HP-UX upgrade. This problem
was only reported for 11.31 upgrades involving PA rp7410 systems and occurred only while the
upgrade was in progress. This fix has made the HP-UX upgrade process more efficient.
Changes in Version 9.01 from Version 9.0 (HP-UX)
IPV6 network protocol support
Starting with version 9.01, GiCAP supports the IPV6 network protocol for group managers and
group members. Note that group network access does not have to be homogeneous. A group
can contain a mixture of nodes accessed using either the IPV4 or the IPV6 protocol.
iCAP WBEM provider fix
A problem was fixed where the iCAP WBEM provider returned incorrect values when the nPar
partition ids for a complex were not sequential. This problem was only seen when using a WBEM
tool such as wbemexec. It was not a problem when using the iCAP command line interface. The
problem is fixed in 9.01.
