NOTE: Communication between the managers and members of groups is established using the
SSL certificates that are supplied by the GiCAP software and the Onboard Administrator.
To create a GiCAP group with members, you must:
1. Purchase new GiCAP sharing rights for the HP Integrity Superdome 2 systems.
2. Acquire the GiCAP codeword from the HP Utility Pricing Solutions portal.
3. Apply the GiCAP codeword to the Group Manager system.
4. You need to understand the following network port requirements:
• Each GM( Group Manager) OS must allow the connections namely ICMP Echo (tcp on
port 7) and SOAP (tcp on port 80, 443) to OA of the member complexes in GiCAP
group.
• Each OA must allow the connection namely WBEM/SSL (tcp on port 5989) to each GM.
• The connection namely WBEM/SSL (tcp on port 5989) must be allowed between active
GM and standby GM.
GiCAP sharing rights are described in “GiCAP sharing rights for HP Integrity Superdome 2”
(page 113).
NOTE: If you need to configure DNS for GMs and OAs, include the DNS port requirement in
the above list.
Configuration requirements on managed HP Integrity Superdome 2 systems
To add an HP Integrity Superdome 2 system into a GiCAP group, the following requirements must
be met by the Onboard Administrator associated with the HP Integrity Superdome 2 system.
• The Onboard Administrator must support the dynamic cores feature.
• HTTPS must be enabled on the Onboard Administrator associated with the group member.
To enable HTTPS, run the following command:
ENABLE HTTPS
• HP recommends all GiCAP group members have the same complex bundle firmware version.
Even if the firmware versions are different, HP supports the configurations.
A DNS setup is preferred for GiCAP setup to work smoothly. However, for some reason if DNS is
not setup, the following steps must be performed to ensure communication is possible between
GM and members:
1. Set IP address of AGM using command icapmanage -I <IP Address>
2. Set IP address of SGM using command icapmanage -P -I <IP Address>
3. Set IP addresses of members on AGM or SGM in local /etc/hosts file.
If required you can change the IP addresses using the same option on GM. To remove IP address
of AGM, execute the command icapmanage -I and to remove IP address of SGM from AGM
execute the command icapmanage -P -I.
After the IP addresses are set the members will be sent the IP addresses (which was set by user)
as AGM and SGM names. Thus the member OA can communicate with AGM and SGM without
requiring to resolve name.
NOTE:
• The options I and P will work only from AGM.
• icapmanage command does not check if the given IP address is correct or not. It is users
responsibility to provide a correct IP address of AGM or SGM.
• icapstatus on members will show IP address of AGM or SGM instead of the names.
