Managing NFS and KRPC Kernel Configurations in HP-UX 11i v3 (762807-001, March 2014)

Appendix A. Obsolete tunables
This section lists the tunables that are currently available on HP-UX 11i v2 but are not provided on HP-
UX 11i v3. Table A.1 lists the tunable names and the reasons why these tunables have been
discontinued.
Table A.1 Obsolete Tunables
Kctune Tunable Name Reason for Discontinuance
nfs_async_read_avoidance_enabled This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_do_purge_rddir_cache This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_fine_grain_fs_lock This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_new_lock_code This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_new_rnode_lock_code This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_posix_pathconf_chown This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_wakeup_one This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs3_adaptive_cache_validate This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs3_hacc_size This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs3_new_acache This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_exportfs_rwlock This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
nfs_new_filelock_cancel This feature is enabled by default on 11i v3 and is not
configurable.
rpc_svc_maxthreads The pool of nfsd kernel threads is configured via the
NFSD_SERVERS entry in the /etc/default/nfs file. Refer to the
nfs(4) manpage for more information.
nfs_clnt_avoid_write_copy There is no 11i v3 version of this tunable at this time. HP is
evaluating the possibility of adding support for this feature in a
future 11i v3 ONCplus ISU release.
nfs_srv_read_copy_avoid
This tunable is replaced by the
nfs2_srv_read_copyavoid and
nfs3_srv_read_copyavoid kctune parameters to provide server-
side read copy avoidance for NFSv2 and v3 filesystems
respectively. There is no support for NFSv4 server-side read copy
avoidance at this time. HP is evaluating the possibility of adding
NFSv4 support for this feature in a future 11i v3 ONCplus ISU
release.
rpc_svc_nfs_cpu_bind_method This tunable is replaced by the rpc_svc_cpu_binding kctune
parameter to provide NFS server threads that service client requests
exhibit CPU bind functionality.

Kernel Configurations in HP-UX 11i v2 at: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#NFS%20Services
