Workaround
Complete the following steps to start the DBMS server after an update:
1. Check the state of the installed VRTSdbms3 (5.0/v3) package.
$ swlist -a state VRTSdbms3
# VRTSdbms3
VRTSdbms3.VXDBMS
2. If the state of the package is not configured, complete the following steps:
a. If the dbms server process is running, stop the process.
b. Configure the package.
swconfig VRTSdbms3
c. Check the state of the package. It must say that it is configured.
Problem
You cannot use snapshots of the root volume as a bootable volume.
A snapshot can be taken to preserve the data of the root volume, but the snapshot will not
be bootable. You need to restore the data from the snapshot to the original root volume
before booting the system with the preserved data.
Workaround
It is recommended that you do not use snapshots of the root volume as a bootable volume.
Problem
When you take a snapshot of an SFCFS file system, the following message is displayed:
VxVM vxio WARNING V-5-0-4 Plex plex detached from volume
Workaround
This is expected behavior. No user intervention is required.
