1. Introduction
HP-UX 11i v3 provides major updates and new features to meet internationalization requirements
within evolving industry standards that are required for cross-platform compatibility and new
functionality. The Internationalization (I18N) components now support Unicode 5.0 and UNIX
2003, as well as several updated national character set standards. The core system areas that
have undergone major changes include locales and localedef, locale and iconv commands, and
converter method libraries. Additionally, new fonts, printing support, and new locales have been
added. This document presents what is new for i18n in HP-UX 11i v3.
