Event Subscription Administration and Event Viewing
Event Viewer and Event Subscription Administration are part of evweb, which is a user
component of the System Fault Management (SFM) software. Event Viewer and Event
Subscription Administration are accessible from HP SMH. Event Viewer is used to view
information about WBEM ind ications and Event Subscription Administration is used to create
and manage event subscriptions to indications about the local HP-UX system hardware.
Features
Event Viewer and Event Subscription Administration together enable the user to:
Users with system administration rights can administer subscriptions. Users can create,
modify, and delete evweb event subscriptions, and create and modify admin-defined event
subscriptions.
Users with system administration rights can delete events permanently by removing it from
the database.
Users with system administration rights can obtain detailed information on errors
encountered by evweb. This information is useful to the HP Support representative for
solving errors generated by evweb.
Users with system administration rights can create event subscriptions across multiple
systems. The Distributed Task Facility aspect of HP SIM can be combined with the evweb
CLI to create subscriptions across groups of servers.
All users can view event subscriptions. The user can view evweb event subscriptions,
external event subscriptions, and HP-Advised event subscriptions. The user can view
summary and detailed information of an event, and also perform quick search and
advanced search on events.
Kernel Configuration
The Kernel Configuration application is used to configure and manage the kernel of the
HP-UX system .

Kernel Configuration enables the user to:
Monitor and modify kernel tunables
Modify kernel module state
Add, modify, and remove alarms
Backup the running kernel configuration before changing configuration
Manage kernel configuration by saving current configuration, loading an available
configuration, and deleting configurations
View a graph of the resource usage
