Provider Overview
Description Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of
system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments.
The Logical Volume Manager (LVM) provider is a WBEM instance provider used to get Logical Volume
Manager information of the LVM subsystem. The current implementation is for HP-UX only and the provider
is an Instance Provider (read-only properties).
Requirements The provider requires:
HP WBEM Services A.02.05 for HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3.

This provider can be used to obtain information from the Logical Volume Manager subsystem.

The provider is supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3.
Setting up this
provider
Installing this provider The LVM provider is available as an Independent Software Unit (ISU) on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and
HP-UX 11i v3.
This provider installs the following files/directories on the system:
Schema MOF file: LVMProvider.mof (in /opt/lvmprovider/mof)
Provider registration MOF file: LVMProviderR.mof (in /opt/lvmprovider/mof)
Provider module executable:
libHPUXLVMProviderModule.1 (in /opt/lvmprovider/lib, and is the target of the
/opt/wbem/providers/lib/libHPUXLVMProviderModule.so (sl) symbolic link)
The HP-UX LVM Provider is registered to support the "root/cimv2" namespace as an instance provider. This
provider is installed by default as ISU on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3.

This provider does not accept specific configuration adjustments beyond the standard WBEM support.
