Cold Installing Base-VXFS and Base-VXVM

To install Base-VXFS and Base-VXVM, complete the following procedure:

• Boot the VERITAS-4.1 install kernels provided with the VERITAS-4.1 version of

Ignite-UX.

• Select the conﬁguration that was added to the server in step 7. Base-VXVM 4.1 will be

automatically selected.

• Select the software (either Base-VXFS or Base-VXVM) from the Ignite-UX selection

dialog box.

NOTE If you choose VxFS, all ﬁle system will be version 5 by default. You must run

vxupgrade after cold install to upgrade to version 6.

NOTE The following message is seen in the swagent.log while cold installing

December 2005 or March 2006 along with the ultra 1123 patch bundle which

has PHCO_33078. The patch gets installed successfully, and the error message is

harmless and can be ignored.
