8 Post Upgrade Tasks
This chapter discusses the tasks that you must complete after upgrading the VxVM software to
restore the previous configurations and to set up Storage Management for Oracle 5.0.1 correctly.

Optional Configuration Steps
After the upgrade is complete, you can optionally perform the steps discussed in this section based
on the requirement, in addition to the steps discussed in “Upgrading From VxVM 5.0 on HP-UX
11i v3 to VxVM 5.0.1 Using Integrated VxVM 5.0.1 Package for HPUX 11i v3” (page 57).
To perform the optional configuration steps, complete the following procedure:
1. To encapsulate and mirror the boot disk, follow the procedures in the "Administering Disks"
chapter of the Veritas Volume Manager Administrator’s Guide.
2. If you want to use the features of Storage Management for Oracle 5.0.1 for which you do
not currently have an appropriate license installed, obtain the license and run the vxlicinst
command to add the license to your system.
3. To upgrade VxFS Disk Layout versions and VxVM Disk Group versions, follow the upgrade
instructions discussed in “Upgrading VxVM Disk Group Versions (page 72).
4. If you have upgraded to the current version of Storage Management for Oracle for DB2, see
“Configuring Storage Management for Oracle (page 64).

Configuring Storage Management for Oracle
This section describes the procedure to configure Storage Management for Oracle. You can use
this procedure to configure Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle (SFORA). The example discussed
in this section shows a simple configuration on a single host. If you are installing a high availability
product or installing on multiple hosts, you will be prompted for additional configuration information.
However, certain databases may require additional configuration steps.
To configure Storage Management for Oracle, complete the following steps:
