217Configuring ISP to work with SAL
Configuring root as a SAL user
4 Use the following command to create the local SAL account file:
# vxsalcmd private.cosmos.com:2802 -f /tmp/maintain_user
To confirm that the password has been set up correctly, enter the following
command:
# vxsalcmd private.cosmos.com:2802 user list
This command should now list all the configured users without prompting
for the SAL administrator’s password.
5 Remove the /tmp/add_user and /tmp/maintain_user files as these
contain passwords in clear text.
Note: If the SAL user’s password is not stored locally, ISP attempts to
authenticate with SAL as the user admin with the password passwd.
If ISP fails to authenticate with SAL, it can neither see nor use any of the
associated storage attributes.
