HP-UX WBEM Fibre Channel Provider release notes (5900-2053, March 2012)

Table 9 Defects fixed in the HP-UX 11i v3 OS (continued)
DescriptionDefect ID
In the previous release, Fibre-Channel provider event details were not formatted correctly on
legacy systems. This defect is fixed in the current release.
QXCR1000993005
On HP-UX system, enumerate instance of HPUX_FCPortControllerCollection class
returns incorrect data when FC port controllers are not present.
QXCR1001029324
In the previous release, memory leak is encountered in the
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule when the evweb logviewer -L command
is invoked on NGIS platform. This defect is fixed in the current release.
QXCR1001023590
Defects fixed in B.11.31.1103 release
In the previous release, the Fibre-Channel Instance provider does not display correct Speed
and Max Speed values for the following Fibre-Channel adapters:
QXCR1001038978
451871-B21 PCIe 2-port 8Gb QLogic Mezzanine Fibre Channel adapter
AH400A PCIe 1-port 8Gb Qlogic Fibre Channel adapter
AH401A PCIe 2-port 8Gb Qlogic Fibre Channel adapter
456972-B21 PCIe 2-port 8GB Emulex Fibre Channel adapter
In the current release, the SNIA library call is modified to handle the above listed adapters.
The SNIA library call retrieves the Speed and Max Speed values for the adapters and enables
the Fibre-Channel Instance provider to display appropriate values for these fields.
In the previous release, on BL870c i2 platform, the Fibre-Channel adapter test command:QXCR1001058688
#/opt/fcprovider/bin/FC_Provider_test -d
fails to generate events for all subsequent Fibre-Channel adapters available on the system if
the first instance of the adapter is not supported by the
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule.
This defect is fixed in the current release on BL870c i2 platform. The Fiber-Channel adapter
tests are enhanced to send events for all the monitored paths even if the first instance of the
adapter is not supported by the HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule.
In the previous release on HP-UX 11i v3 OS, enumeration of classes available in Fibre-Channel
Instance provider and Fibre-Channel Consolidated Status provider fails for a user with non-root
privileges.
QXCR1001068706
This defect is fixed in the current release. Enumeration of classes available in Fibre-Channel
Instance provider and Fibre-Channel Consolidated Status provider is successful even for a
normal user.
In the previous release on BL870c i2 platform, when the cimserver /
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule is restarted, the Indication Identifier index
QXCR1001078598
is reset. If the evweb current database already has events with the same event number or
Indication Identifier index, such duplicate events are not logged in the evweb database. When
events with the same event IDs are reported frequently, the events will be logged in the /var/
opt/sfm/log/event.log file and the syslog file.
In the current release on BL870c i2 platform, when the cimserver /
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule is restarted, the Indication Identifier is
concatenated with a timestamp along with the event number and Index. With this modification,
the Indication Identifier can never be duplicated and all the event IDs generated by the provider
are unique and gets logged in the evweb database.
In the previous release, when the evweb eventviewer command runs on HP-UX platform,
both HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule and
QXCR1001040332
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule displays the Fibre-Channel hardware path
in Summary and Description fields of the command output. The adapter hardware path
value must not be displayed in these fields.
In the current release, the HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule and
HPUXFCNativeIndicationProviderModule does not display Fibre-Channel hardware
path in the Summary and Description fields of the evweb eventviewer command
output.
