Description
W
eb-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of
system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments.
The kctune command is used to manage kernel tunable parameters. The kctune provider works in the
W
BEM environment and enables you to obtain information about tunable parameters and their values, and
make changes to tunable values.
Requirements
The provider requires:
HP WBEM Services A.02.05 for HP-UX 11i v2 / 11i v3 systems.

The kctune provider gathers information related to the kctune command from systems running HP-UX 11i v2
/
11i v3.
Supported OS
The provider is supported on HP-UX 11i v2 / 11i v3 systems.
Setting up this provider
Installing this provider
The kctune provider installs the following files/directories on the system:
Registration MOF file: HPUX_ProviderModuleR.mof (in /opt/uxprov/mof directory)
Provider registration MOF file: HPUX_KCTune.mof (in /opt/uxprov/mof directory)
This provider is installed by default on HP-UX 11i v2 / 11i v3 systems.
The HP-UX kctune provider is registered to support the "root/cimv2" namespace as an instance provider.
Configuring this provider
This provider does not accept specific configuration adjustments beyond the standard WBEM support.

HPUX_KCTune class. Table 1 describes the properties and methods supported by
the provider.

Table 1 describes the properties of the HPUX_KCTune class. It has three columns. The first column lists the property name (including type and
units), the second lists the property inheritance (indicating which class or superclass defines the property), and the third discusses the property
description and its value. Each row describes a property.
Note:
Some properties in the table are marked with the “Write” qualifier (based on
their designation in the DMTF CIM schema). The property values with “Write” qualifier can be modified by users using the modifyInstance
method.
