The HP-UX LAN Provider is registered to support the “root/cimv2” namespace as an instance provider.
The provider will be installed automatically when you install or update to the HP-UX release media specified
in the “release information” section. If you prefer to install just the LAN Provider module, it can be installed
by following the instructions listed here.
Load the software media into the appropriate drive. If the software is downloaded from web, note the
full path name of the Depot file.
Run the swinstall

program to install the software.
Change the host name after “Source Host Name,” if necessary.
Click on the Source Depot Path to identify the registered depot for the appropriate source depot path;
or enter the full path name of the Depot file if the software is downloaded from web.Activate the OK
button to return to the Software Selection Window.
Highlight the LAN Provider software: WBEMP-LAN-00.
Choose “Mark for Install” from “Actions” menu to choose the product to be installed.
Choose “Install” from “Actions” menu to install the chosen product.
Activate the OK button in the Install Analysis Window when the Status field displays a “Ready”
message. swinstall loads the filesets, runs the control scripts for the product and registers the
provider with WBEM Services and NetTL facility.
