Provider Overview

Description

The OLOS Provider (OL* Provider) is responsible for providing an interface for user level applications to

initiate and monitor the status of OL* operations. It exposes configuration and status information about

components within an nPar and it is responsible for invoking the application handshake mechanism as part of

an OL* operation.

The OL* Provider is accessed via the WBEM client interface (API), and interacts with the MP via IPMI either

using the kernel IPMI/BT driver, or directly to the MP via IPMI/LAN on Pinnacles/Arches platforms. The OL*

Provider also interacts with the iCAP WBEM provider to approve changes from OL*. Finally, the OL* Provider

interacts with COSMic to serialize and perform high-level control of OL* operations.
