These tools were designed with the following goals in mind:
Simplify getting the data to answer the question: “When does my
Oracle instance need more CPU resources to meet business
objectives?” Toward this end, the tools provide a simple method for
getting the following metrics to WLM:
Wallclock time consumed by a piece of SQL code (the amount of
time it takes for the SQL code to execute)
A single floating-point value from a piece of SQL code
Not require modifications to the application or the database
Be easy to use quickly by providing useful examples, instructions,
and pointers for additional information
