3 Installation Information
Operating System Requirements
HP Caliper has been tested and is supported on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and
10, RedHat 4, Debian 3.0-based systems.
HP Caliper will only run on a Linux kernel with version 2.6.5 or higher and will not
install on a kernel earlier than 2.6.5.
HP Caliper has been primarily validated with code produced with gcc and g++, and
minimally tested with code produced from the Intel icc compiler.
HP Caliper requires the following minimum library versions:
glibc 2.3.3 or later
libstd++ 3.3.3 or later
libgcc 3.3.3 or later
Shared library version requirements for HP Caliper include:
libstdc++.so.5
libgcc_s.so.1
libc.so.6.1
Hardware Requirements
HP Caliper is supported on the HP Integrity server family.
Software Requirements
Local Server for Linux/x86
The local HP Caliper server requires the following minimum library versions:
glibc 2.3.3 or later
libstd++ 3.3.3 or later
libgcc 3.3.3 or later
Shared library version requirements for the local Caliper include:
libstdc++.so.5
libgcc_s.so.1
libc.so.6.1
If your Linux distribution is relatively new, you need to insure that the above
compatibility libraries are installed to run the local server on your machine.
